Our second day in San Diego we enjoyed ourselves at Sea World. Just a note about the lack of pictures: our camera bag was left behind momentarily at the end of the day and stolen. So all but 3 pictures from our day were lost. The bag had the nice SLR camera, my extra zoom lens, the video camera, and all connector and charger cords inside. :( So please forgive the lack of photos from the day!
Back to the more pleasant events of the day! We started off with a visit to the dolphins. We walked up just as the show was beginning and fortunately that early in the day the crowd was small. We were each able to pet and feed a dolphin, which is a pretty cool experience. I have at least one child now who wants to be a dolphin trainer.
We also had great seats for Shamu, which still is a very neat show. Other favorites include the sharks, tide pools, penguins, and the pet show. These are the pet-lovingest kids on the planet, so a show featuring dogs, cats, pigs, ducks, et al performing all kinds of impressive tricks is just their thing.
Here's the gang leaving the show.
I love the beluga whales. Maybe it's all those years singing "Baby Beluga" with my own babies that makes me sentimental about them.
At the end of the day Scott took Gwen to see the Sesame Street 3D show and to play on the play structures (this is where the camera was stolen). The other 3 kids and I went on the water raft ride, which turned out to be an exercise in patience, given that the wait was over an hour long. By the time we got on the ride the air temp was cooling down. The ride itself got us soaking wet, and some guy who paid 50 cents to shoot a water gun at the rafts unloaded the entire guns' worth of water directly in my face. He had a great aim and a mean spirit. So we were very wet when we were done:
Following the soaking and the camera search we decided to call it a day. The wet ones among us were freezing and nothing sounded so good as dinner and a soak in the hot tub at the hotel.

Your camera story...so sad. I'm wondering if a few special words came out of your mouth while the man sprayed you...just wondering.
Good thing there were children around...I was a millisecond from screaming the highly colorful words that were formed on my lips. I held back for my children's sake!
