Staying Busy

We've kept busy over the last 3 months. Ava played basketball for the first time. She improved a lot over the course of the season. She started out as timid but really looked to get her hands on the ball and played solid defense by mid-season. By season's end she was even taking shots.

Watching the game during a break:

Taking the ball down court:

Posing after a game with her good friend Kea and Kea's dad and the team's coach, Brian:

Brenna played softball again this year. Her team had a couple of other good catchers on it so she really had to fight to get time behind the plate.

Coming off the field:

She was scared to bat this year! I'm not sure where her fear came from, but it lasted all season long! Fortunately by the end of the season she was getting some good hits in despite her fear.

Most of the time when her team was on defense Brenna played 3rd base. She was a solid 3rd baseman.

A smile after scoring a run:

Nate took this picture which shows what I was doing during the games: official scorekeeper, a job I enjoy.

Alas it has come time to say goodbye to these darn things.

Heaven help us all if we consent to put braces on a 9 year old again. It was a painful year, but worth the struggle.

Let the removal begin!

She loves it when I take her picture.

And they're off!

So nice!

I love seeing her teeth again when she smiles.

Brenna got to participate in the district track meet this year, in both the 100 meter and the girls' 4x100 relay. Here she is with her teacher, Miss Carnahan.

Brenna ran the first leg.

She didn't win in either event, but she trained with the team in the weeks prior to the event and tried her hardest and we were proud of her.

These 2 girls have been keeping us moving!
